INTRODUCTION
The Amsterdam Face 2 Face Archery Tournament is an elite archery indoor
event. Participation is restricted to members of national teams and pro
teams and other archers of a high international level. The international
archery community loves the Amsterdam Face 2 Face Archery Tournament.
Despite the fact that the tournament is now a biannual event, the last
edition was in 2006, and despite the Olympic year, already more than 180 of
the world best archers from over 16 countries entered the 2008 edition.
There is a strong selection criterion for participation and high results are
to be expected. The organizers are pleased that many athletes that heard
about the Face 2 Face Archery Tournament, but did not participate so far,
are among the first ones to enter the 2008 tournament. Also some of the
participants of the first editions that could not make the trip to Amsterdam
in 2006 will be present again.

MEN RECURVE DIVISION FULLY BOOKED
In mid August 2008 the men recurve division for the Face 2 Face tournament
in December 2008 is already fully booked! The organizers are pleased with
the great interest, but regret that some of the elite archers in the world
can not enter this high standard tournament. The format of the Face 2 Face
allows us to enter 48 archers in each division (men / women, recurve /
compound). For the men compound division 96 archers can enter. There is a
waiting list for those who entered too late.

DATE AND PLACE OF THE AMSTERDAM 2008 FACE 2 FACE TOURNAMENT
The 2008 edition of the Face 2 Face tournament will take place from December
5 to December 7, 2008 at Sporthallen Zuid in Amsterdam (same venue as in the
2004, 2005 and 2006 editions of the tournament).

PRIZE MONEY
The prize money for the 2008 edition of the Face 2 Face tournament is not
yet fixed. Prize money is related among others to sponsorships. We will
inform you about the amount of prize money in our next newsletters.

CATEGORIES AND MAXIMUM NUMBERS OF PARTICIPANTS
Four categories of archers compete in the Amsterdam Face 2 Face Archery
Tournament:
Men Compound: 96 participants
Women Compound: 48 participants
Men Recurve: 48 participants
Women Recurve 48 participants
Maximum number of participants is 240.

OPEN SELECTION ROUNDS
Like in the previous editions of the Amsterdam Face 2 Face tournament, Open
Selection Rounds are organized prior to the Face 2 Face Archery Tournament.
The Open Selection Rounds offer the possibility for non-invited archers to
join the Face 2 Face Archery Tournament with a wildcard. There will be four
wildcards per category. Dates and program of the Open Selection Rounds can
be found on our website. If you want to join the OSR, do not wait too long
as the number of participants IS also limited and entries are going fast.

You can register for entry on the Face 2 Face Archery Tournament 2008 or the
Open Selection Rounds 2008 at the website of Face 2 Face
(www.face2face-archery.org).

08.30 - 18.00 hours: 1st elimination rounds for all categories

Saturday 6 December 2008
08.30 - 18.00 hours: 2nd and 3rd elimination rounds for all categories

Sunday 7 December 2008
09.00 - 11.15 hours: Semi finals
11.45 - 13.45 hours: 3rd & 4th place finals
14.15 - 16.15 hours: Finals
16.30 - 17.00 hours: Prize ceremony
17.00 - 17.30 hours: Interviews and pictures of the winners

TOURNAMENT VENUE
The tournament venue will be the Sporthallen Zuid in Amsterdam. For an

HOTEL
The four star Novotel of the Accor group in Amsterdam is the hotel for
the Face 2 Face tournament. Novotel is experienced to lodge large groups of
athletes. Novotel offers the Concordia Archery Tournaments foundation single
and double rooms at a reduced rate. The dinner buffet timing will be matched
to the tournament progress. Reduced rates for diner buffet are offered only
when booked in advance. Parking tickets are offered at a reduced rate. The
Novotel hotel is situated close to the tournament gymnasium and has good
transport connections with Schiphol Airport and Amsterdam Central Railway
Station. Transport will be arranged by the organizers between the Novotel

MEDIA
There will be live transmissions of the Amsterdam Face 2 Face archery
tournament on the Internet. On demand movies and replays will be available

The successful archery market in the previous edition of the Amsterdam Face
2 Face tournament will be prolonged and will be bigger then the editions
before.

VOLUNTEERS
The Face 2 Face organisation relies on volunteers. We seek volunteers for
